TILDE MADRID-Spanish School for Adults
This is a wonderful school!I can’t say how great Tilde is for adults who take learning seriously.I truly enjoy that this school is for adults only. As a working professional I was wary of going to a school where there were a bunch of young teenagers or 20 something’s who were there on a gap year or for a semester. I did NOT want to be around a bunch of rowdy kids who were there to party with learning Spanish as a bi-product of their academic/ personal/ or influencer experience.Tilde has a wide range of students from all over who are really there to learn. The school is small and personable. All staff are warm and professional. The school is also in a fantastic location.I will for sure go back when my Spanish needs a boost!

Learning Spanish with Ina at TILDE MADRID School has been a pure joy for me. I find my professor very experienced, friendly, patient and able to explain important details so well. I’m looking forward to every single one of our lessons! She is knowledgeable about Spanish culture and history, so I've learned a lot not only about the language but also about Spain through our in-depth conversations. With every class I'm also having fun learning grammar exercises. I can see that my fluency is improving quickly and I’m speaking Spanish at work with much, much more confidence. I live in Los Angeles but with Zoom classes I really feel like I'm part of Madrid! This school is very professional and well organized.

I was in intensive classes for four weeks at Tilde and made great progress. There's a wonderful atmosphere at this small school: professional and supportive. The teachers are excellent! The cultural program made my stay in Madrid even better.

Great School!. I attended Tilde for 4 weeks , in the intensive course 4 hours per day , in Jan and Feb 2018. It is a wonderful Spanish learning environment for adults. The faculty are very experienced , and attuned to the individual level and needs of each student; the classes are very small, allowing for and promoting individual progress. And it is a tremendous amount of fun, so much so that you don't always appreciate how much you are learning. I had a distant background studying Spanish, but had not taken a class for over 30 years. By the third week, I had people speaking Spanish in my dreams!

TILDE MADRID-Spanish School for Adults
I would highly recommend Tilde Madrid to any adult serious about taking a Spanish language course! This was my first experience in such a course (I'm a beginner and did 4 weeks of intensive between August and September 2022), and it definitely met and often exceeded my expectations as a beginner.I'm glad that I chose Tilde Madrid. When I first started looking for a school to do an intensive class, I noticed a handful of schools that had excellent ratings on Google maps. In fact, I almost signed up for a different school. But, after reading some of the negative reviews of the others, it seemed to me that many of the other schools in the area are predominantly aimed at high-school or college-aged learners. The pictures they post on their websites seemed to confirm this. Of even more concern, some may incentivize students to post positive reviews. Then, there was Tilde which touts itself as one designed for adult learners. As a 35 year old beginner in Spanish, I would rather learn in a environment of motivated adults than in a class full of high schoolers sent overseas by their parents for the summer or college students more concerned about socializing than learning. From this standpoint, Tilde was awesome! The students there during my stay ranged from retirement age to my age and came from a variety of countries - the UK, Germany, Switzerland, the US. I very much enjoyed the diversity of age and nationality. The other factor that led me to choose Tilde was that the guaranteed class-size was smaller than other schools. I thought this would be important for getting adequate speaking experience. For whatever reason, when I was there, I only ever had 1 other classmate which I thought was perfect. Now to things that Tilde does really well. First, the location of the school is amazing, minutes away from the Palacio Real and Plaza Mayor, right in the heart of the city. I enjoyed walking to class every day, but it's also only a few minutes from the Opera metro stop.Next, and perhaps most importantly, I found everyone from the teachers to the administrators to be very friendly and welcoming throughout my 4 weeks there. The professors are professional, yet very friendly and fun to talk with. Shout-out to the teachers I had during my weeks there: Carmen, Marga, and Elsa! Each was attentive, engaged, and seemed eager to help us learn. They were always on time and came prepared with learning activities, but were also flexible enough to just allow time for us to speak which as a beginner takes time.In general, I thought there was a great balance between conversation, grammar, and vocabulary in classes. For the intensive class, I had two 1.5 hour blocks per day in addition to the morning tea. One block seemed to have more of a focus on grammar and the other more on conversation, but in each, there was plenty of time for us to practice speaking if we desired. The morning tea idea is a really cool one. Every morning at 9 am, one of the directors, either Lola or Pilar, sits down with everyone currently at the school, usually 4-8 students, and chats about the news from the newspaper or the TV. I liked this because it expanded my vocabulary to include things from current events and because it exposed me to higher levels of Spanish learners and let me get to know everyone at the school a bit. There is free coffee and tea and the school puts out some small snacks like biscuits in the mid-morning which is a nice gesture. Finally, I found the free cultural activities to be really good. These occur twice a week and are either tours through neighborhoods of Madrid or to the major museums in Madrid. Each last 1.5 hours. Most of the tours when I was there were guided by Sonia Fernandez Matesanz who was an extraordinary guide and somehow managed to convey super interesting facts and history in Spanish to a newb like me. That said, I think the higher level learners also really enjoyed the tours. All in all, I don't hesitate to give Tilde Madrid a 5/5 star rating and would pick them again if I were to return for another course.

I really enjoyed my week of intensive Spanish at Tilde. All communications before and during were very professional. The teachers were great and the 4 hours flew by - I really liked the review of the papers over coffee - nice way to start the day. Great use of teaching materials. Two cultural activities were included in the fees and I'm really glad we did them - all in Spanish of course, and a great way to see and learn more about the cityWe were a small class - just me and my husband!110% recommend the school and went I come back to Madrid I'll definitely book more classes

Such a wonderful school! I only had one week to spend learning and made a lot of progress in my Spanish grammar and vocabulary. The teachers are expert professors and love working with adult learners. The other students were serious and dedicated to learning and fun to spend time with. This is the 3rd Spanish school I've been to and by far the best. I highly recommend this school and can't wait to come back soon!
