Albergue Monte Irago

I had a fantastic experience at Albergue Monte Irago. The atmosphere is truly wonderful, and the staff running the place are incredibly friendly and always have a smile on their faces. One of the standout features is their multilingual proficiency, with the ability to communicate in English, German, French, and, of course, Spanish.The value for money is exceptional, with a bed and dinner package priced at just €22. If you're concerned about going to bed hungry after dinner, rest assured, you'll be pleasantly surprised. The portions are generous, and I left the table feeling completely satisfied. This albergue is a gem for anyone traveling through the area, and I highly recommend it for a warm and fulfilling experience on your journey.

One of my favorite stops on the Camino. Friendly atmosphere, I was treated like a long lost family member. After a long walk, the beer was cold, the food was tasty and the hosts were attentive and charming. I was invited to practice yoga in the back which I thoroughly enjoyed. I stayed in the attic shared with others, that was as expected. Not luxurious up there but perfectly comfortable. A very pleasant surprise finding this place.

¡Definitivamente una experiencia inolvidable en el albergue Monte Irago en Foncebadón! Ubicado a más de 1400 metros de altura, tuve la asombrosa oportunidad de contemplar la vía láctea en todo su esplendor. Las comidas caseras fueron simplemente exquisitas, una deliciosa muestra de autenticidad que hizo de mi estancia algo único. La relación calidad-precio es inmejorable, superando mis expectativas en todos los sentidos. Sin embargo, lo que realmente destacó fue la atención cálida y amable proporcionada por Lena y Constant. Su dedicación y hospitalidad agregaron un toque especial a mi tiempo en el albergue. ¡Sin duda, un lugar que recomendaré a todos los amantes de la naturaleza y la buena atención!

If you are walking the Camino this is a must. Amazing people who make you feel like home. Great food and on a clear night amazing views of the stars. very focused on people doing the walk and has the communal feel.

It’s too bad about this rating. The woman checking us in was lovely and helpful. They had a nice fireplace where we sat in the afternoon and enjoyed a beer and chatting with other pilgrims. Dinner was delicious.However the sleeping arrangements are horrendous. They have crammed too many bunk beds in the room and there is no way for anyone to leave their stuff. The bunk beds are cheap and flimsy. I am 160 pounds and when I went to go up the ladder to the top bunk the bed began to tip over . The bed was narrow (for a child) and only had a railing on one side which was dangerous.The showers are not acceptable. There are tow showers for men and women together.’there is no room for your clothes in the show so you have to step out of the shower to dress potentially with someone else where you are both going to be uncomfortable.Unfortunately the worst Albergue we have stayed at.

Lena, Sinai and staff were excellent. It’s the people and food that make the place special. Had a superb dinner with other guests, breakfast was fairly typical.There are some more Reno’s and upgrades required, and we understand that it is a work in progress. We stayed in the second floor (uppermost level) dorm which it would’ve been nice if there was a door on the shower room (to keep the light from illuminating the entire room). The toilet on that level unfortunately broke too while we were there. Hopefully they’ll get these things fixed.

We stopped here for breakfast after coming from Rabanal del Camino. They had fresh apple pie straight out of the oven. Not my usual breakfast choice but all rules are out the window on the Camino. It was amazing I’m still thinking about it!

We stayed there in April on our pilgrimage. Lena was a wonderful host and we had an evening that we will never forget. Food was great. Don’t forget to take a piece of the wonderful Tarta de Santiago with you when you leave.

Este es el lugar perfecto para quedarse después de una larga caminata. Lena me recibió con una gran amabilidad, su alegría es contagiosa y crea un ambiente muy lindo de camaradería entre los peregrinos. ¡¡Recomiendo totalmente este albergue!!
