What a parhetic car rental outlet! Attitude is awful and hours are sporadic. AVOID!

I was put off by using Budget having read the existing reviews however I must say for the most part I had a pleasurable experience. Picked the car up in Donostia, dropped off in Santander airport. No issues picking up or dropping off. The only reason I could not give it 5 stars is because Budget seem to have charged me an additional small amount for no obvious reason... the additional cost was €2...

Acaban cobrando mas de lo que acuerdas. Te cobran extras por todo. Y encima no responden a las reclamaciones

I rented a car here and noticed a dent on the door. After pointing it out, I was promised the system would be updated. Trusting them, I did not wait for updated paperwork. When I came to return the car, there was no update in the system and now I am being charged €600 to fix it. This is the second time I have had problems with Budget in Spain asking for payment on previous dings and scratches. It seems that their business model is based on stealing from customers. I have tried to call them repeatedly and nobody answers the phone in the San Sebastian office.

Posting this review as I was so put off by the previous reviews but this Budget car hire turned out completely fine. It’s situated on the -2 level of the parking opposite the main train station near the river in San Sebastián.Pros:Woman on the desk was really helpful and amended our booking. Yes the hours are limited but they are in keeping with most other businesses in Spain and advertised on the website.The cost was lower than from the airport.Quick check in worked well so picking up was quick!Cons:There is only one person there so they do not answer the phone.Car was a Fiat Panda so bottom of the range and had not effective air con. I would go further up the scale next time.Overall does what it says on the tin

Buenas tardes. Ayer alquile un coche en Donosti. Vi que tenia manchas de pintura en el techo y un rayazo en una puerta. Se lo comenté al dependiente antes de salir con el coche y me dijo que no pasaba nada, que ya conocia esos detalles del coche. Al entregarlo en Figueres, me quereis cobrar el desperfecto de la puerta. Tengo las fotos tomadas de los desperfectos ANTES de retirar el coche y se las enseñe a vuestro dependiente. Qué tipo de engaño es este? Solicito que el dependiente de Donosti hable con Figueres para que le diga que el coche estaba asi antes de me lo entregaran. Espero vuestros comentarios. Saludos

Thugs in suits. Would never, ever recommend.Extra after payment of a total €279 without telling you what it isIt's doesn't bother me too much that I have to pay double because I'm under 25, but when they add expenses that double my already double cost, I get mad.After my rental was over I didn't expect too much added expenses other than the gas tank was left half full, and that I'd have to pay something overpriced for that. But seeing an afterpayment of 279€ without a factual explanation, is not acceptable. The only thing they write in the receipt is: (1)rental expenses (2)additional expenses (3)fuel prepayment, which I paid for at the desk before renting the car. They also put a star(*) on these three topics without further explanation of what that includes. So what is it? Nobody has told me yet.

I rented a car with them to pick it up at the bus station in San Sebastian in Spain on Sept 18 in the morning. First of all, the car that was not cleaned at all (the pictures I took when I opened the doors talk by themselves). So I returned to the counter to ask for another cleaned car and they asked me to wait the cleaning since there was no other car to give me, delaying my departure. I returned the car on the same day around 9pm (I also left the parking ticket with date and time inside the car and drop the keys in the box they have in the parking, exactly as requested). What a surprise I had when on the Wednesday Sept 20 I received an email with extra costs cause by.... a delayed return on Sept 19 at 20:32! At that time I was already back home after taking a flight.... Budget charged me erroneously for something that I did not do! It is insane. Also, I immediately sent an email to their Customer Care but we already on Sunday Sept 24 and no reply at all. And their phone number does not work - but of course that my credit card was charged. I kindly ask Budget to review the situation and to reimburse me for the amount that is not due.

Rented a car from this location, returned to San Sebastian Airport. The other location claimed I damaged the car, which I did not do. Emailed this location for assistance, since they had prior pictures of the car, with no response.
