Hotel ILUNION Málaga

My wife & I stayed at this hotel a couple of times during September & October 2023. The location is very central & it's easy to get around. Rooms are very generous & well appointed. Breakfast on level 1 is a good standard for a large & busy hotel. We actually had dinner downstairs on a few occasions. Food & drink was very good & well priced. My only Point For Improvement of the restaurant is that of inconsistencies between chefs. We had several great meals, but our Sunday evening meal was well below par, which we could only put down to a different chef.

La habitación es amplia y está todo limpio, fundamental para mi y nos tocó una habitación exterior, importante, si me hubiera tocado una interior, tendría que dar mi opinión. El servicio bueno y atentos. Variedad en el desayuno te hacía la tortilla en el momento así eliges como la quieres.La piscina bien ubicada, abajo. En la azotea con el calor sería insoportable.Restaurante, no hay mucha variedad pero lo que comimos muy bueno y el resto de los platos que vimos, contundentes.Solo estuve un fin de semana de descanso, pero repetiría aunque algo apartado del centro, hay que caminar unos 10 minutos más o menos, pero a quien no le importe caminar como a mí, recomendable.

Un restaurante moderno con todos los servicios, las habitaciones son muy amplias. El desayuno buffet pues completísimo para saciarte con todo tipo de variedades culinarias. La localización es bastante buena a dos pasos del puerto y las playas

Me dieron una habitación superior con vistas al puerto, las vistas son buenas, pero el ruido era mucho, toda la noche oyendo los coches pasar. La atención es excelente, el desayuno buffet muy bueno. Está al lado de la estación de tren, cerca del centro de la cuidad andando.

A great time spent at this hotel. The room was spacious with air-conditioning, large beds, and a great big bathroom. Be aware, not all rooms have great views, but the glass lift (elevator) makes up for that on the way up or down and I also didn't come to look out of a hotel window. The pool was nice, not a large pool but big enough to cool down in in the hot summer. Breakfast was good, the staff were very quick in clearing the tables, didn't find I had to wait for a table in the outside dining area to sit. A wide selection of food. The room was kept clean and the rest of the hotel was very clean too. Found all staff to be helpful and happy, nothing seemed too much trouble. Would definitely recommend staying here as I intend to again in the future.

The rooms are good and breakfast is ok. However there were other guests at the hotel who had several experiences with a certain staff member.On one of these occasions the staff had received complaints about high noise levels at one hotel room, which to be fair isn't that uncommon. Instead of acting professional and giving the room owners a warning to keep it down, this one staff member went straight to threats.He literally said keep it down or the whole group are evicted straight away, if not he would call the police. (This was a big group of people travelling together and occupied several rooms on several floors and had no prior complaints)The residents were shocked by this behaviour, but none the less complied. A few moments later the staff member apparently went to double check, then came across two of the 'party' members in the hallway as they were returning to their rooms carrying a portable speaker ( which they had turned off since they got the complaint) .The staff member then without warning gets physical and tries to take the speaker from the guests. He was clearly angry and kept repeating he would evict everyone, not just these two.They of course refuse, since they weren't doing anything wrong, in fact they were complying just as they said they would. A bit back and forward and the staff member left. They were shocked that he used physical means to get his point across.The next day they inform the residents that the staff member have written a report.In turn they would have to sign a written statement ( in Spanish) that said they accepted the contents of the report or else the whole would be evicted and the report sent to the police.They asked to see the report, but were refused because the hotel claimed it was an 'internal' document for staff members only. This was a big group of people who were traveling together, getting a new hotel at such short notice was of course not possible. Basically they were forced to sign the paper or else they had nowhere to stay.Power abuse and collective punishment, from a staff member that totally ruined the whole experience and honestly much of their trip.I certainly hope that the hotel doesn't share his values.Needless to say the group were overly cautious and afraid the rest of the stay, veary of what the staff member would think of next.

Nice and comfortable hotel with helpful staff. Problem is kitchen. Pasta with bolognese sauce was very small portion, with basically no taste not enough salty and spice. Beef steak entrecôte was absolutely well done even though I ask for medium. I will not eat here in the future. The bill isn’t possible to write on the room. This never happened to me in any others 4* hotels.

My review of the hotel is biased because…well, long story short…I forgot my AirPods in the hotel room, and when I found out, I was already at the Malaga airport flying to Lisbon.If it were anything else, I’d probably just considered that item lost forever. But the AirPods were a birthday gift from my partner 4 years ago, I had to get it back no matter what.I phoned the reception from the airport, and they informed me to reach out to UPS or DHL for pickup and delivery services. Right away, I filled out the form online to have my AirPods picked up and sent to the UK, our final travel destination.Just as I thought the ordeal was over, UPS informed me that personal items cannot be sent to the UK. So although the AirPods were picked up already, they had to be returned to the hotel. I emailed the hotel reception back and forth about the situation, and they were extremely kind and helpful, helping me with printing out the labels and dealing with the delivery driver.Finally, my AirPods were back with me in Taiwan after 2.5 weeks. I’ll be forever grateful for what the reception team did for me and remember the kindness I received from the people of Malaga. Thank you! Muchas gracias!

We had two adults and a teen in same room. The room was spacious enough and there was place for luggage.The pool is nicely sized and there are lounge chairs around it. It is not in direct sun light so you won’t burn either.The breakfast selection was good and the outside terrace was very nice to sit outside.It is a few blocks from train station.Walk to the old town was maybe 10 minutes.

Nice hotel with great location- spacious room, comfy beds but bathroom is in need of renovation- a few tiles on the floor were moving and there are big glass doors on the bath making it hard to get in and out. Breakfast buffet was excellent, spa area and pool was clean and well maintained, steam room was not working and they should have had some extra towels for the pool area. Staff were very friendly and helpful
